The rest of the country seems to be pummeled with heat waves but here in Fernie we're getting more and more rain. It's like summer wasn't meant to be this year - but that didn't stop me from getting a tan. I took advantage when I could!
Well, I hope you're enjoying whatever weather that comes your way. |

Small Town Social - An Event Planning Guide, in a soft cover book, is now available. It's purpose is to support anyone planning an event, large or small, in Fernie BC (and the surrounding area.) An "event" could be anything from a wedding, corporate retreat, family reunion, birthday, anniversary, baby shower or any other cause for celebration.

Two Owls Collect has launched the blue bin notebook project. I started doing it for myself, when Two Owls Collect opened early 2009, because I go through SO much paper and it felt like a huge waste. Why waste when you can reuse?!
Blue Bin Notebooks make use of your recycled, printed on one side paper scraps and turn them into notebooks or notepads. Just $5/book or pad (about 50-75 pages.)
You supply the recycled paper, I'll supply the cover (if needed) and binding equipment! Go team.
There are also already made blue bin notebooks, using 100% PC paper and reusable covers. To find out more, go to fine stationery. They're super cool! |

If you're interested in volunteering a bit of time (the amount is up to you), small town social is looking for people in Sparwood, Elkford and/or Elko who are interested in writing and photographing (if you're looking for a reason to practice these skills) the happenings in and around these towns. Or, if you have a project/series in mind that is perfect for Small Town Social, please contact me and we'll chat about it. Thanks! team@smalltownsocial.com
